Measuring less than 14 mm and only 655 gm in weight VAIO X series is appearing to be the world’s slimmest notebook. Sony, a Japanese giant and world’s largest consumer electronics manufacturer is going to provide slimmest series for notebooks seeming to give a tough competition to Apple as well.

Sony VAIO X series notebooks is extremely thin in measurement and extremely light in weight according to company’s statement. This approach is done due to using light weight as well as slightly low performance yet powerful components such as they have integrated flash drive instead of heavy weight hard disk carrying comparatively heavy weight mechanical parts, low profile single-sided motherboard, thinner cables, slimmer connectors and card slots.

One of the main involvement that Sony has used is hybrid carbon fiber material in a whole outer body to achieve this thinness.

Sony is releasing two models from X series viz VPCX117LG/B and VPCX113KG/B notebooks, both supporting new Windows 7 OS, Bluetooth, Intel Graphics Media Accelerator, Intel Atom Processor, flash memory, WXGA TFT Display and Wireless LAN.
